PLAYWRIGHT

Gil Kofman was born in Nigeria and raised in Kenya, Israel, and NYC. He studied physics at Cornell before attending NYU Graduate Film School, and later receiving an MFA in playwriting from the Yale School of Drama. His play American Magic, a dark political satire, was produced in NY, LA, and London with music by Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) and Richard Foreman as the President.  It was later published by Broadway Play Publishing along with two other plays, The Interview/Entrevista and Pharmacopeia. The Interview/Entrevista, about Latino immigration in California, starred Tony winner Frank Wood and played in LA, NY and Dallas Theater Center and received a Dramalogue Award. His film "The Memory Thief" (starring Mark Webber and Jerry Adler) won the Feature Award at the Edmonton Int'l Film Festival and played on the Sundance Channel.  Recently returning from the MacDowell Colony (where he was writing a play on Eadweard Muybridge) he put everything aside to urgently work on - Transparent Falsehood

 

DIRECTOR

Richard Caliban has worked as a director and playwright across the country and internationally in the UK, Budapest and Uzbekiztan. He was Artistic Director of acclaimed Cucaracha Theatre where he directed many of his plays over fourteen seasons, including Homo Sapien Shuffle at the Public Theatre. Caliban’s MoM - A Rock Concert Musical won “Outstanding Musical” at FringeNYC and continued with runs at the Actor’s Playhouse, Geva Theatre Center and many other venues. He is also known for directing the celebrated Obie and Outer Critics Circle award-winning production of Mac Wellman’s Crowbar at the Victory Theater; and for his collaborations with Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Jules Feiffer; Michael Weller and Will Sheffer (Big Love, HBO) on the Naked Angels stage production and subsequent film version of Easter.

WYATT FENNER* (BARRON, JARED) -  Some of Wyatt's credits include Naomi Wallace’s The War Boys, Bent directed by Moisés Kaufman, Cloud Nine directed by Michael Kahn, Romeo and Juliet directed by Darko Tresnjak, several of Samuel D. Hunter’s plays including The Whale and Rest, the LA premieres of Dog Sees God and Next Fall as well as many others. Television: “Bones” and “Veronica Mars”. BFA: University of Southern California. STEPHANIE FREDRICKS*  (MELANIA, TEACHER, DAD) - is thrilled to be back in her hometown after more than 10 years away. She was seen earlier this year as Liz Imbrie in High Society with the Musical Theatre Guild in Los Angeles. Prior to her time in L.A., Stephanie performed in the Broadway Revival of Wonderful Town, directed by Kathleen Marshall, and Off-Broadway in The Occupation. Some favorite productions include the L.A. Premieres of Sondheim On Sondheim, The Next Fairy Tale, and I Capture the Castle, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, The Apple Tree, The Student Prince at Paper Mill Playhouse, Terrence McNally’s Master Class, A Chorus Line, and Children of Eden. Among her film and television credits are “Ovation,” directed by Henry Jaglom, “Untold,” “The Bold and The Beautiful,” “Life Stories” for HBO, a recurring role on “All My Children,” and the recently released second season of “Break A Hip,” starring 6-time Emmy nominee Christina Pickles, and Oscar Winner Allison Janney, directed by Cameron Watson, which can be seen at www.breakahip.com/season-2. 

CHUCK MONTGOMERY*  (BANNON, DOCTOR) -- is an Actor, Musician, Comedian, Writer.  His films include - “Mona Lisa Smile”, Stepmom”, and the Hal Hartley films “Amateur”, “Henry Fool”, and “Fay Grim”.  TV- “Orange is The New Black”, “Alpha House”, “The Sopranos”, all the “Law & Order”s and “Third Watch”.  He has been a “downtown theater” fixture, appearing with Home For Contemporary Theater and Art, HERE, Target Margin Theater, Hourglass Theater, Arden Party, Dearknows Theater Company, and as a member of the Obie award winning Cucaracha Theater.  A stand-up comedian at The Improvisation, the Comedy Cellar, Caroline’s, Catch A Rising Star and many comedy clubs up and down the east coast. A writer and performer for Comedy Central working on “Short Attention Span Theater”, Jon Stewarts first TV hosting job.  (He was also the guest- host, frequently subbing for Jon).  Guitarist and co-composer for the rock band Chuck & Sue, featuring his wife Sue Scarlett Montgomery - Vocals/Composer.  (Visit and “like” Chuck & Sue on Facebook).  

LATONIA PHIPPS* (IVANKA, STUDENTS, ANNOUNCER) - is an actress, playwright, poet and teacher. Phipps was born and raised in New York City, Brooklyn, NY. She holds a MFA in Theater arts from CUNY Brooklyn College and has studied theater and storytelling in St. Petersburg, Russia and Ghana West Africa. Her most recent projects include Lincoln Center (LCE) Dominque Morrisseau's, Autumns Harvest, Castillio Theater Katori Hall's Children of Killers; As well as working with companies such as Arena Stages, Playwrights Horizon and Signature Theater. Phipps is also a reknowned playwright having produced to projects, Fishin' In Brooklyn (One Woman show) and Now Harlem (Full-Length play). Phipps recently has taken to T.V. And Film work but is excited about returning to her roots in theater. She gives God thanks and all the credit for where she is and where she's going.

SET & PROJECTION - Lianne Arnold is a video & scenic designer and inter-disciplinary artist whose work extends through theater, opera, music, dance, film & art installation. Select performance work includes Yoga Play (South Coast Rep), Such Nice Shoes (TheaterLab), You Are Here (The Kitchen/Jane Comfort & Company), Spam (The Cherry/Jack), Water by the Spoonful (Premiere Stages), The Astronaut’s Tale (BAM), The Elephant in Every Room I Enter (NYTW, La Mama), How to Live on Earth (HERE), Patty: The Revival (Highways Performance Space). She was a production designer on the short film Toru which premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. She has worked with composers John King (Dice Thrown - randomly generated opera), Robin Cox (Hourglass - participatory dance improv), and Earl Maneein (Seven Suns - heavy metal string quartet). Her installation work has been seen in collaborations with visual artists Leslie Kerby (Counterpointe/Brooklyn Ballet/BRIC), Natalia Margolis, Fariba Alam & Urban Matter Design Firm (Bare Branches – Shrine Empire Gallery, New Delhi). Lianne was the Associate Projection Designer on A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Julie Taymor dir./Theater For a New Audience) and on Party People (Liesl Tommy dir./The Public Theatre). She was named a "Young Designer to Watch" by Live Design Magazine, A "Person You Should Know" by Visible Soul, and is a winner of the NYCFringe Overall Excellence Award, a Stage Scene LA Award, and UCLA TFT's Chancellor's Marshal Award. She proudly earned her MFA from CalArts.

LIGHTING - Kia Rogers - Lighting Designer - Her work has been seen at BAM Fisher, 3LD Art & Technology Center, The Gym at Judson, The SoHo Playhouse, Theatre at St. Clement’s, Danspace, St. Luke’s and the 4th Street Theatre. Regional: Thieves by Charlotte Miller in LA. Selkie by Sarah Shaefer in San Francisco. International credits: Associate Lighting Designer for Slutforart/98.6 in Gothenburg, Sweden with Muna Tseng. Tours: The God Box Project with Mary Lou Quinlan, Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca and Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana. Awards: Outstanding Lighting Design for Jane The Plain with the NYITA, 2014 and nominated in 2016 for Rizing.

COSTUMES - Sarah Thea is a New York City based Costume Designer and Teaching Artist with Roundabout Theatre Company. As the Resident Costume Designer for New Chamber Ballet, her costumes have been seen around the world including: Cologne, Germany (2013), Bramante’s Tempietto in Rome, Italy (presented by the American Academy 2016), and Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala City, Guatemala (2016).  Select design credits include: Platonov (The New Ohio, 2018), A Deal (Ensemble Studio Theatre 2017), King Stag (The New School 2017), Long Before Afterward (Triskellion Arts 2016), Medea (Gene Frankel Theatre 2016) Still and Still Moving (Gibney Dance Company 2015), American Dance Festival: Footprints (NC 2017), Honky (Off-Broadway, Urban Stages 2013). She often designs for Marymount Manhattan College Dance Department and Theatre Arts, The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, and AMDA College and Conservatory. A fine artist and photographer, Sarah Thea's dance photography was published in the March 2015 issue of Dance Magazine.
